Philspace Ltd is a family business, which was established in 1975. We are one of the South's leading suppliers of temporary portable accommodation. We currently employ 25 staff. We operate a fleet of over 1700 units which are transported using our own Hiab vehicles for which all our drivers have their slingers / banksman cards and certificates of competency for the cranes which they carry in their vehicles at all times. We also operate two Self Storage yards at Wickham and Bitterne, supplying containers for customers’ to store their own goods in. 

Philspace Ltd have a management and an operating team of highly skilled and loyal personnel who are continuously undergoing training to give a professional service of the highest standard.  We take health and safety very seriously in all our yards at Lower Upham, Wickham and Bitterne, and whilst on site complying with our company’s Health and Safety Policy. Philspace employ a full time Health & Safety Manager to ensure that ours and sub-contractors certificates are up to date and that we are working within H&SE recommendations.

We offer complete site services for all accommodation and sanitary requirements for Hampshire and the surrounding areas with just a straightforward application form to complete in order to commence hire. We can supply anything from a two storey modular building meeting the latest fire, safety and building regulations to a small tool store. Units can be designed from new or refurbished to the customer’s own specific requirements either to purchase or rent. We also buy and sell used cabins and containers.

Transport Manager

Philspace Ltd is a leading supplier of temporary and portable site accommodation and require a Transport Manager to join this progressively expanding company.
Main duties will involve managing the coordination and direction of transport operations within the company using a variety of 18-26 tonne trucks fitted with lorry loaders, 3.5 tonne vehicles, 4x4 vehicles and towing trailers.
Working Hours: Good work life balance hours: 7.30am till 4pm, Monday to Friday - Basic 40 hours per week, paid Weekly. Flexible overtime and occasional weekend work. Additional hours available if requested.

Qualifications: HGV Class 1 or 2 Driving Licence with CPC or have previously held one. Transport Manager CPC preferable but not essential. Hiab/Lorry Loader certificate would be an advantage.
Experience: Candidates must possess a comprehensive understanding of transport operations and practices. Knowledge of HGV driver regulations including WTD. Previous experience of managing transport related operations preferred but not essential. Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Successful applicant will be required to attend various courses with our training providers.
