Delivery/Collections Driver & Yard Operative

Philspace Ltd is a leading supplier of temporary and portable site accommodation and require a 'Delivery/Collections Driver & Yard Operative' to join this progressively expanding company.

Main duties will involve the delivery and collection of mobile welfare units, temporary fencing, chemical toilets, portable showers and staircases to and from our customers sites driving a 7.5t van. Towing of small mobile welfare units to and from sites using 7.5t van or 4x4.

Qualifications: Driving Licence is essential, C1+E Driving Licence with CPC would be an advantage, however the successful applicant will be put through the relevant training if required. 

Experience: Ideally with a minimum if 2 years driving experience. Experience of towing and the use of digital tachograph would be an advantage but training would be provided for the right applicant. 

Various Health & Safety training courses provided upon start. Successful applicant will be required to attend various courses with our training providers.

Must be a conscientious, reliable, flexible and a team player. Ability to prioritise work schedule on a daily basis, ensuring tasks are completed with timescale given. Must be able to follow instructions but also be able to use own initiative as and when required. Have the flexibility to work outside of working hours should this be required. Be courteous and presentable, as you will at times be the face of the company and deal directly with customers and suppliers. Be willing to learn and be safety conscious at all time.  


JOB DESCRIPTION

·        Delivery and collection of mobile welfare units, temporary fencing, chemical toilets, portable showers and staircases to and from our customers sites driving a 7.5t van.

·        Towing of small mobile welfare units to and from sites using 7.5t van or 4 x 4.

·        Holiday cover for our pumper drivers which involves following daily routes driving to customers sites, emptying chemical toilets using purpose built pumper mounted on van,

then re-charging with fresh water and chemicals. 

Act as a vehicle banksman where necessary and assist with the installation of our fleet of temporary accommodation units on site if needed.

·        Ensure tachograph procedures are followed and adhered to.

·        Vehicle walk around checks and defect reports to be completed prior to each use.

·        Use of electronic handheld device for paperless deliveries and collections. Training given.

·        Ensure vehicles are checked maintained and kept in a clean and working order.

·        Maintaining our housekeeping procedures, making sure equipment is checked and stored away correctly.

·        Cleaning and maintenance of yards and fleet units on days that driving work allows.

·        Liaising with the Transport Manager and Operations Manager with regards to workload priorities and overtime requirements.

·        Timesheets to be completed accurately on a weekly basis and handed into the Transport Manager for approval.

·        Ensuring our Health & Safety systems and procedures are followed and adhered to.

·        Any other ad hoc duties as required by the company.














Salary:  £14.00 per hour, equivalent to £29,120 annual salary. Overtime paid at time and half.
