The Opportunity

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Finance Manager to lead our financial operations. This is a hands-on role ideal for an experienced professional who thrives in an SME environment and is confident managing the full finance function—from transactional tasks to strategic financial reporting.


Qualifications & Experience: 

AAT qualified or part-qualified ACCA/CIMA (or qualified by experience). 

Proven experience managing a finance function in a small to mid-sized company (SME).

Proficiency in Sage Line 50 is essential.

Strong IT skills with a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Experience in the hire industry is advantageous but not essential as training will be provided.

Job Description

  • Oversee all day-to-day accounting activities with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Manage financial and management accounting processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Prepare monthly Profit & Loss statements and Balance Sheets.
  • Reconcile all bank accounts and maintain the Fixed Asset Register.
  • Submit quarterly VAT returns in full compliance with HMRC guidelines.
  • Drive and manage cash flow forecasting and monitoring.
  • Lead and refine the credit control process to improve cash collection cycles.
  • Liaise with customers and suppliers via phone and in person.
  • Develop and implement improvements in reporting systems and internal procedures.
  • Maintain organised, efficient financial records—both digital and paper-based.
  • Contribute to broader business functions as needed with ad hoc tasks and insights


Working Hours: 40 Hours per week, Monday to Friday - 8.00am to 4.30pm

Salary: £40,560 - £19.50 per hour
